Bike Ride – From Suffrage to Equality: Nothing to Lose but our Chains

A cycle ride through history touching on the lives of some of the Manchester women who made important contributions to ‘The Cause’ of women’s suffrage.  Along the way we consider how the bicycle gave many women new independence, whilst also challenging prevailing ideas of how women should dress.  The tour includes a visit to the National Cycling Centre where we hear about some of the recent changes in British Cycling and challenges facing today’s elite women cyclists.  Please visit Manchester Bike Rides for more information, and booking.
