Lunch-time violin recital: The March of the Women

Enjoy a lunch-time recital of Ethel Smyth’s iconic 1910 anthem The March of the Women on October 11 from 1pm.
Violinist Rachel Swanick and piano accompanist will perform the piece here at Emmeline Pankhurst’s former home, in commemoration of the first meeting of the suffragettes, which took place at the house on October 10, 1903.
The rousing music became the suffragette anthem during the campaign to win votes for women after Smyth dedicated the piece to the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU).
Please drop in between 1 – 2pm to enjoy the music.
